What is presort software?
Presort software groups mail pieces the way USPS processes them, by carrier route, ZIP Code and density, and prepares the matching containers, labels and documentation. USPS gives lower postage rates for mail that arrives presorted.
What mail classes and shapes does MaxPresort OS support?
First-Class Mail®, USPS Marketing Mail® and Package Services, including letters, flats, machinable parcels and saturation mailers.
Which presort schemes are included?
Walk Sequence, Saturation, High Density, Carrier Route, Enhanced Line-of-Travel (ELOT), 5-Digit and 3-Digit. MaxPresort OS applies them automatically to reach the lowest eligible rate.
Is MaxPresort OS USPS certified?
Yes. It holds PAVE™ Gold certification for presort accuracy and supports Manifest Analysis and Certification (MAC) Batch. See Compliance & Certification for details.
Does it handle palletization?
Yes. It builds bundles, trays, sacks and pallets to USPS rules, supports custom pallet sizes and can co-palletize eligible mailings to deepen discounts and reduce handling.
Does it generate Intelligent Mail® barcodes and labels?
Yes. It generates Intelligent Mail barcodes for Basic and Full-Service mailings, plus tray tags and container and pallet labels.
Can I import data from my existing systems?
Yes. Lists and batch files can come from mainframe, PC or cloud-based sources.
Should I clean my addresses before presorting?
It’s best practice, and it improves your sort density. MaxPresort OS works alongside CASS™-certified address correction, change-of-address updates and duplicate removal so your list is clean before it’s sorted.
Is it hard to set up or keep updated?
No. It’s built for quick setup and simple day-to-day use. Updates for USPS rule changes are delivered promptly, and the support team helps with implementation and workflow design.
Will it scale with my volume?
Yes. It serves small in-house teams sending a few thousand pieces a week as well as service bureaus processing millions of records a month.
